ENTERTAINMENT ROUND UP

By Oscar Smith

The X Factor:

This year the X Factor was a real breath of fresh air, really showcasing British talent. The best thing was that both acts in the final, Grace Jones and Rak-Su sang original music throughout the competition, rather than just covering other artists’ tracks. The eventual victors were Rak-Su, who clinched the title after singing about fajitas, the Mona Lisa and somebody called Mama Sita. They also had a whole host of songs make the Top 10 in the ITunes charts.

I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here:

Being stuck in the Australian Bush on rations of rice and beans would not be most celebrities’ cup of tea, however, this year celebrities have seemed to revel in it. ‘Made in Chelsea’ star Georgia ‘Toff’ Toffollo is now a favourite to win having thrown herself into every ‘Bush tucker trial’ and boxer Amir Khan and broadcaster Iain Lee caused scandal after eating strawberries and whipped cream supposed to be for the camp. This was such a significant event in jungle life, that it eventually became known as ‘strawberry gate’.

The Apprentice:

The Apprentice is finally drawing to a close and the candidates have had their fair share of highs and lows. Just five candidates remain after all the others fell victim to Lord Sugar’s infamous one-liners and sackings. Elizabeth (a florist by trade) now seems favourite to win the show. Despite her dictator-like man management and ridiculous attention to detail, there is definitely something very endearing about Elizabeth. Nevertheless, how will she and the other candidates fare when business experts tear their CVs apart? We’ll have to wait and see.
